Getting Through on the Phone : We know that this can be difficult first thing in the morning so if you want to book a routine pre-bookable appointment, get a test result or ask a question, please try phoning after 10.30am.  You will find it much easier to get through.

Pre-Bookable Appointments :
We offer appointments that you can book upto 4 weeks in advance.  Many of these are during our normal opening hours but some are early Wednesday and Friday morning or after working hours Tuesday evenings.  So if you do not need to be seen urgently why not book in advance?

How To Request

We are happy to take repeat prescription requests by email or in writing, unfortunately we can not normally accept repeat prescription requests over the phone due to errors which could easily be made.  To submit your repeat request in writing please use the repeat order form attached to your last prescription or write us a note stating your name, date of birth and for each medication its name, doseage and number amount.

green pillsPharmacy Collection

Many pharmacies are now able to collect your prescription from us and therefore reduce the number of trips you need to make.  Ashington Way, Asda Westlea and Sainsbury's Bridgemead and the three most local pharmacies who do this but many others do if you request this from them.

If you wish to collect from Ashington Way Pharmacy in particular, please indicate this and we can set this up for you on our computer system.

Collecting Your Prescriptions

Where possible your prescription will be ready to collect within 2 working days.  This allows us enough time to create your new prescription, get the doctor to sign it and check any outstanding queries and then return it to reception ready to be collected.  We apologise that there are sometimes delays on prescriptions as the doctors may need to review your medical record before authorising them.  We will endeavour to sort out any problems that you do experience so please bare with us.

Please leave enough time to request your repeat prescription so that you do not run out.

Repeat Dispensing

If you are on regular repeat medication which does not change frequently you may wish to consider repeat dispensing.  This is a system by which you receive upto 6 months worth of prescriptions at one time which are then held with the pharmacy for you to collect each month.  For more information speak to your doctor when you next see them, the pharmacist or a receptionist
